This lovely large Purple Pocillopora Coral Colony stands approximately 8cms wide by 10cms high. The beauty of this coral is that it isn't mounted to anything meaning that you can mount it anywhere in your tank giving is a natural look. It is already established and has fantastic polyp extension, wonderful to watch as they sway in the flow. Depending on the conditions this frag will quickly grow into and beautiful colony.

Pocillopora Corals should be introduced into established reef aquariums and although they prefer strong lighting can live in a variety of lighting conditions. Pocilloporas are a relatively fast growing SPS (Short Polyp Stony) Corals and their growth pattern will vary depending on the flow they are reeceiving, higher flow tends to create a compact short branched colony whereas lower flow conditions will create thiner more open branch structures. It is important to maintain the alkilinity, calcium, magnesium and pH values in your tank as well as making sure that the Nitrate and Phosphate levels are as close of 0 as possible.

These SPS (Short Polyp Stoney) Corals need a moderate care level and will need high lighting and strong water flow. The positioning of these corals should be in the upper regions of your tank to get the most light possible. These corals require the addition of calcium, magnesium, strontium and other trace chemicals to them to thrive. We would always recommend either frequent water changes or preferably a dosing regime.

Each coral is unique - You will receive the actual coral shown in the photographs.
